Local affordable housing agency gets boost from State Farm

Homestead Resources receives operating grant from State Farm

Lafayette, IN: Over 1,500 individuals and families reach out to local housing counseling agency, Homestead Resources, annually to help them attain affordable housing or stay housed. This year the organization received a grant from corporate partner, State Farm. The $35,000 operating grant will help Homestead Resources provide financial education, housing counseling services and serve as an affordable housing developer in the Greater Lafayette community.

State Farm has been supporting Homestead Resources for over 20+ years, because they believe in the quality of programming offered by Homestead Resources’ dedicated staff. “Affordable housing is the foundation for families to thrive. State Farm is proud to support Homestead Resources as they provide clients with access to financial education, housing counseling and alternative lending options to achieve affordable housing and financial success,” said Jim Slaven, State Farm Public Affair’s representative.

“Families are struggling in our community, they need access to programs that will provide financial education, guidance and support along the way. We continue to experience a steady increase year over year as families navigate a tough housing market,” said Marie Morse, Homestead Resources Executive Director. Morse has served as the Executive Director for over 15 years and continues to be awestruck by the determination, grit and focus of the people contacting Homestead Resources for education, planning and resources. “The grant from State Farm is a testament to the local community, the families that we serve, and the Greater Lafayette community. We are humbled by State Farm’s generosity and focus on community development and affordable housing.”
