Lafayette, Ind. – Homestead Resources has received $27,500 in funds from Purdue Federal Credit Union and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis for housing counseling services across its 10-county footprint. The grant comes courtesy of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis’ Community Multiplier – Member Match program.

The $27,500 grant will support Homestead Resources’ financial counseling and education programs. These programs strengthen individuals and families, and in turn neighborhoods and communities also improve. “ Community well-being for people and families is dependent on being financially stable and having access to affordable and secure housing situations, whether as homeowners or renters,” said Marie Morse, Executive Director. “This grant helps us ensure housing counseling is available to anyone who needs unbiased financial education and guidance in our service area.”

Last year, Homestead Resources leveraged more than $3 million to help their clients stay in their homes. Among those over 2,000 clients, there were 936 children who are now in stable housing with the support of Homestead Resources and their expert housing counselors

“Investing in financial counseling and education programs strengthens our community,” said Purdue Federal Credit Union Senior Account VP of Business Development Jeff Love. “We believe everyone should have access to the tools and knowledge that can help them achieve lasting financial stability, and we’re honored to support organizations like Homestead Resources to help make that happen.”

The Community Multiplier – Member Match program is FHLBank Indianapolis’ newest program offering, designed to support targeted affordable housing initiatives that fall outside of FHLBank Indianapolis’ other grant programs. Community Multiplier offers grants between $25,000 and $125,000 for non-profit organizations headquartered in Indiana or Michigan who partner with an FHLBank Indianapolis member financial institution on targeted affordable housing initiatives. With a 10% matching funds commitment from the member financial institution, FHLBank Indianapolis is providing grants between $25,000 and $125,000. The program opened March 27, 2025, with a $5 million allocation until funds are exhausted.
