Lafayette, Ind. – Homestead Resources is proud to announce that all apartments at The Jeffersonian are full, and the community is 100 percent leased, marking a major milestone in expanding access to safe, affordable housing in the Greater Lafayette community.
The Jeffersonian, developed by Homestead Resources and managed by Stenz, was designed to provide high quality, accessible housing for seniors seeking stability, independence, and social connection. Full occupancy reflects both the growing need for affordable housing and the success of the organization’s mission-driven approach.
“For us, this milestone is about more than a building being full. It’s about the people who are now home.” said Marie Morse, Executive Director of Homestead Resources. “Behind every apartment door is a person who now has a safe, stable place to call home.”
For more than 43 years, Homestead Resources has provided personalized counseling and community education programs that help people build the foundation for good financial habits and housing stability. Homestead Resources created The Jeffersonian to be a place where residents can thrive and stay connected to essential resources and community support.
“The demand we saw at The Jeffersonian was incredible, and the people who have joined our community are so happy to call downtown Lafayette home,” said Kandace Gleason, Stenz Property Manager at The Jeffersonian.
Homestead Resources is committed to advocating for increased investment in affordable housing that supports people across the Greater Lafayette region. Once The Jeffersonian opened last November, the organization announced another win: funding for renovations at Historic Jeff Centre. Combined these two apartment communities provide 124 units of affordable housing for the community.
“This moment reinforces what we know to be true. We all want a place where we feel at home and that we can comfortably afford,” said Morse.
As a HUD certified Housing Counseling Agency and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Homestead Resources works across a ten-county region to ensure individuals have access to the education, resources, and planning tools that support long-term housing stability.
